How to prevent a fall.

There are many ways, and we will start with SLIPPING.

Reducing this cause will be very helpful in the slipping incident.

The reason of slipping are

1.       Polished floors and shiny floors.

2.       Poor grip of our foot wear

3.       Balance of elders.

Let us start with polished / shiny floors. And with bath rooms

In bathrooms, floors become slippery – when a thin layer of soap gets on the floor. This very thin layer is not visible to the eyes. This needs to be cleaned on a regular basis.

Let us start..

1.       Mechanical Cleaning

Clean by scrubbing with a brush. It has to be a hard brush.

Best is coconut hairs. They have been used in Bharat for thousand of years. They are natural, and absorb a lot of soapy material. This is also very fast to do so.

I am putting a few of these from Amazon.

These are to used on the floor. There is no need for any chemical. Just plain cleaning with the brush. Keep on cleaning with plain water also.

This cleaning to be done once a week. For a normal toilet this will take about 15 mins to 30 mins.

When cleaning for the first time, try to put plain vinegar on the floor and then do the brushing. Clean once with vinegar and second time with plain water.

This method is very effective on all types of floors. As we are using just plain water – that does not spoil the floor.

In villages, were the floor is mud floor – there also this is very effective.

Plain water rubbing with coconut hair brushes – does not spoil even marble or granite floors.

Personally I prefer – coconut fibre as they are natural, it gives employment to our fellow citizens and it gets decaled very quickly. Plastic – takes up to 4000 years to decompose and we also get microplastics.
